I think the model s/x has a softer ride option but at this stage my friend who has a Model 3 LR says his is firmer than my Model 3 Performance!

I do think Tesla is playing a balancing act of premium enough to be close to "luxury" brand but not so customisable that costs blow out and their prices also have to double and adoption drops off.
